(톱스타뉴스 Hannah Kang 기자) The '2012 Gangnam Festival K-POP Concert (Hallyu Festival)' took place in front of Coex Mall in Samsung-dong on the evening of October 7.

Girls' Generation attended the concert and performed on stage.
This year was the sixth annual 'Gangnam Festival' and took place in Gangnam, which ahs risen to be the mecca of Hallyu. As representatives of Hallyu and ambassdors for Gangnam-gu, 'Girls' Generation' and 'Super Junior' put on fantastic performances, along with special guest 'DBSK'.
Meanwhile, becoming more than just a neighborhood event, 'Gangnam Festival' had three major events that took place, an international peace marathon, fashion festival, and the Hallyu festival. Along with these events, Korean and international guests were able to taste different foods that are available in Gangnam, buy things from the 'Gangnam Grand Sale' and participate in other small events.
A representative of the festival stated, "This '2012 Gangnam Festival' has become an opportunity to gain international exposure for Gangnam as a brand, similar to the G20 Summit, Nuclear Security Summit, and other international meetings" and "We hope that Gangnam will become the number one place for Hallyu tourism and influence the worldwide spread of Hallyu and fashion."
