The red carpet event marked the opening of the ‘2012 SBS Gayo Daejun’ and was conducted with a free show concept where K-pop artists who highly influenced the Korean Wave had photo-ops and interviews.
The ‘2012 SBS Gayo Daejun’, hosted by IU, miss A’s Suzy, and Jung Gyu Woon, featured various collaboration stages with the theme as ‘The Color of K-POP’. Dazzling Red, Mystic White, Dynamic Black, and Dramatic Blue were formed as project groups to display the numerous colors of K-pop.
‘Mystic White’ followed an innocent concept and consisted of KARA’s Kang Ji Young, SISTAR’s Bo Ra, After School’s Lizzy, Secret’s Han Sun Hwa, and 4minute’s Heo Ga Yoon. The five ladies represented women who fell in a one-sided love and performed their song, ‘Mermaid’.
‘Dramatic Blue’ was the vocalist group that was centered on the singing skills of the members, who were BEAST’s Yang Yo Seob, 2AM’s Jo Kwon, Infinite’s Woo Hyun, MBLAQ’s G.O, and Teen Top’s Niel. They performed ‘Tearfully Beautiful’ and displayed their sweet voices.
BEAST’s Lee Gi Kwang, 2AM’s Jung Jin Woon, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon, Infinite’s Hoya, and Teen Top’s L.Joe, who formed ‘Dyanmic Black’, put on a performance of their new song ‘Yesterday’ and displayed strong masculinity.
A seductive and sexy performance was displayed by ‘Dazzling Red’, which consisted of KARA’s Nicole, SISTAR’s Hyorin, Secret’s Hyo Sung, After School’s Nana, and 4minute’s HyunA.
Big Bang enthusiastically performed ‘ONE OF A KIND’, ‘Crayon’, and ‘FANTASTIC BABY’, while TVXQ and Super Junior’s bold performances decorated the finale.
In particular, ‘Tearfully Beautiful’, ‘Yesterday’, ‘This Person’, and ‘Mermaid’ were pre-released on December 26 and 27 and the profits from sales will be donated to the children’s Dream Orchestra through SBS Hope TV.
